May 12, 2019 marks the seventh-year anniversary of the unfortunate passing of Trevor Barton, a 20-year-old Londoner whose life was tragically taken in a train accident. Trevor was an outstanding person and a spectacular athlete, who excelled at baseball, basketball, and football. To support Trevor’s everlasting legacy, his friends and family have organized annual Trevor Barton Memorial Softball Tournaments and have created the Trevor Barton Memorial Foundation, which has obtained CRA approval to become a registered charity in Canada focused on alleviating poverty for underprivileged youth athletes.
The Founders of the Trevor Barton Memorial Foundation are both former London baseball players who wanted to ensure Trevor's name lived on in the Ontario sporting community. The mission of the Foundation is to provide access to physical activity and to mitigate the impact of poverty on Ontario youth. The Foundation provides publicly-available monetary grants based on financial need. These grants cover the costs associated with playing various sports, allowing underprivileged youth to participate when they may otherwise be unable to do so. The Foundation greatly appreciates the work of the London Badgers Organization in generating donations and proceeds from this Annual Tournament to help the Foundation further its Mission of helping youth athletes.
Trevor Barton will never be forgotten, and his impact on this world is only in its infancy.
You can make a difference. Please help the Trevor Barton Foundation help kids around this great province.
No child should be left on the sidelines, and no parent should feel that sports are not an option for their children.
Your donation allows us to provide funds directly to youth athletes in need of financial support. Your contributions also help to advance our fundraising initiatives, which yield larger sums to be earmarked for distribution to children and their families.
