William “Bill” Sevier – A Lifelong Volunteer in London Baseball
William "Bill" Sevier was a foundational figure in London, Ontario's baseball community, leaving an enduring legacy through decades of volunteer service with the Eager Beaver Baseball Association (EBBA), the London District Baseball Association (LDBA), and the London Badgers.

Bill began his baseball journey in the early 1970s, coaching in the Eager Beaver Baseball Association, one of London's longest-standing youth leagues. His passion for teaching the game and building character in young athletes quickly became evident and laid the groundwork for his leadership in local baseball organizations.
๐ Administrative Service – London District Baseball Association (LDBA)
In the mid-1980s, Bill took on a more formal administrative role in the local baseball community by becoming Secretary of the LDBA, a position he held with diligence until 1996. During his tenure, he was instrumental in organizing league operations, managing communication between clubs, and helping to guide the association through a period of growth and modernization.
His exceptional service was eventually recognized with induction into the LDBA Hall of Fame, honoring his contributions to the sport in the London region.
๐ฐ Leadership with the London Badgers
In 1997, Bill joined the London Badgers organization as Treasurer, a role he held for many years. His financial stewardship helped the Badgers become one of Ontario’s most respected elite baseball programs. Bill's work behind the scenes ensured that countless young players had opportunities to grow in the sport at a competitive level.
To honour his service, the London Badgers host the “Bill Sevier Memorial Tournament”, held annually in June. The 2025 edition is scheduled for June 13–15, and will feature 12U AAA/AA and 13U A & Below divisions.

Bill’s dedication lives on through his family, especially Glenda Sevier, who continues to support the London Badgers by sponsoring the annual “Dedicated Badger Award.” This award recognizes players who display exceptional commitment and sportsmanship—values Bill upheld throughout his life.
