TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – The Goshen baseball team picked up their second win of the season on the road in Georgia. A three-run home run by Badger Alumni Trent Sillett helped push Goshen to an 11-7 victory in game one before a 3-0 loss in the second game.

Goshen was on the board early in the first game. The Leafs got a run in the first because of an errant throw to third and then a run in the second from a wild pitch. Char Reeves scored later in the inning on a fielder's choice.  Toccoa Falls scored twice in the bottom half of the second to make it 3-2 and then added one in the third to tie it up.

The Maple Leafs opened things up in the fifth with a five-run inning. A Joshua Rubio groundout scored Evan Creager. Jenner Rodammer hit a single to center to score Nate Lange. Then, the big play was a three-run home run by Trent Sillett that scored Rodammer and Reeves and advanced the lead to 8-3.

The Maple Leafs added some insurance runs in the seventh when Creager also hit a bases-clearing double – scoring Joseph Cerda, Gabe Kermode, and Sillett. Goshen led 11-7, which would be the final score.

Badger Alumni Eric Pettipiece earned the win on the mound for Goshen. He allowed four earned runs and four hits in two innings with three strikeouts.
